Corporate Cover
This includes:
- Emergency medical advice and information via the ParamedicSA 24 hr Emergency Operations Centre.
- Emergency medical response to the scene of an emergency incident, stabilization, treatment and subsequent ambulance transportation.
- Transportation of the insured person via air ambulance should that be the most appropriate means of transportation.
- Transfer of the insured person to the closest most appropriate medical facility.
- Transfer of life saving medications and emergency blood if required.
- Admission deposit guarantee of up to R2 000 at the receiving medical facility to which the insured person has to be transported to.
- Non-emergency medical advice through Health Protector.
- Companionship and / or care of the stranded minor.
- Supply of first aid kits at discounted rates.
- Assistance with developments and implementation of effective Standard Operating Procedures related to medical emergencies.
- First Aid (Level 1) training up to a maximum of 15 candidates - refresher training and additional training at pre-negotiated rates. Access agreements only!
- Event medical standby up to a maximum of 3 intermediate life support, 8 hour events per year. Access agreements only!
- Supply of first aid kits at discounted rates. Access agreements only!
The following two rate options are available:
- Access Agreement
All services included as detailed above. Actual transportation will be billed on a fee-for-service basis.
- Full Cover Agreement
Refers to a capitation service. Under capitation legislation, providers like ParamedicSA are paid a periodic fixed amount per insured person to finance the costs of defined purchase of services. The capitated provider shares financial risk for providing the emergency services and become insurers in this sense. For ParamedicSA's capitated clients, these are no-risk, comprehensive and unlimited service for which client members receive no bills. Capitation also makes the total cost of services more easily predictable and easier to budget for the client.
